Tour Style

Group Size: 14 guests (4 staff)

Rides: Guests are amazed by the quality of the roads in Spain. They are often very smooth surfaces, and cities cater for cyclists. We aim for between 80km and 100km a day, but where climbing is involved, we may shorten the rides. We always have shorter ride options available for guests.

Challenge Rating: We target seeing the important mountain stages, so our rides reflect riding in the mountains. We offer epic ride extensions for guests wanting more miles and vertical meters.

Accommodation: We stay at 4-star hotels, and Spanish hotels typically have larger-than-normal rooms. We vary the accommodation throughout to include modern to new hotels as well as refurbished historical buildings.

Trip Suitability

Rides: You don’t have to be an elite cyclist to join us. With our high staff-to-guest ratio, we support different ride options each day – giving you a choice. There are our ride extensions for our stronger riders to get more km’s and vertical meters. And if you’d like an easier day, or a day off, join our non-cycling itineraries or our easier ride option.

Challenge Rating:  Mostly climbing

Race of Truth: The Vuelta Time Trial

DATE: Thursday 10 September 2026
LOCATION: Seville, Spain

Today brings one of the most distinctive stages of the Vuelta,  the Individual Time Trial, often referred to as the “race of truth.” After breakfast, we ride out toward Jerez de la Frontera, positioning ourselves along the course to experience this unique spectacle from close range.

Time trial days carry a different kind of tension. Riders set off individually, racing against the clock, with the atmosphere building gradually as split times flash through and margins tighten. Instead of one explosive moment, the drama unfolds steadily,  every rider, every second, every effort fully exposed.

After enjoying multiple viewing points along the course, we return to Seville for a relaxed afternoon. The rhythm of the day softens once the time trial concludes, giving everyone space to unwind before the final mountain stages loom.

This evening, we gather for a shared dinner,  a social and relaxed opportunity to reflect on the day’s performances and preview what lies ahead in the high mountains.

Spectator Experience

Time trial stages are ideal for spectators. With riders starting individually, you can enjoy repeated viewings and follow the evolving leaderboard without the rush of a fast-moving peloton. Jerez offers open viewing areas and a relaxed atmosphere before an easy return to Seville.

Granada Bound & First Glimpse of the Sierra Nevada

DATE: Friday 11 September 2026
LOCATION: Granada, Spain

This morning we leave Sevilla behind and transfer east toward Granada, moving closer to the dramatic high mountains that will shape the final days of the Vuelta. The scenery gradually shifts as we travel,  flatter plains giving way to rising foothills and the unmistakable outline of the Sierra Nevada on the horizon.

After settling into our new base, we head out for a ride in the surrounding countryside. The terrain rolls steadily at first before gradually gaining elevation, offering a rewarding introduction to this mountainous region. With the Sierra Nevada as a backdrop, it’s a scenic and satisfying spin that sets the tone for what’s to come.

While the peloton tackles Stage 19 from Vélez Málaga to Peñas Blancas, our focus shifts to culture in the afternoon. A guided tour of Granada reveals its rich layers of history,  Moorish architecture, narrow cobbled streets and the vibrant energy of a city where old and new sit side by side.

High Mountains & The Vuelta’s Final Showdown

DATE: Saturday 12 September 2026
LOCATION: Granada, Spain

Today is one of the defining days of the entire tour. We leave Granada early and ride deep into the Sierra Nevada, climbing steadily into a landscape that feels vast, wild and unmistakably alpine. The road rises in long, sustained gradients, revealing sweeping views and dramatic ridgelines that make this region so iconic.

This is high-mountain riding at its purest,  consistent pacing, wide-open skies and the quiet focus that only big climbs demand. As we gain elevation, the sense of occasion builds. Stage 20 of the Vuelta, from La Calahorra to Collado del Alguacil, promises a decisive battle for the general classification.

We position ourselves roadside in a prime mountain viewing location. Here, the race slows and intensifies — riders fighting gravity, fatigue, and each other in one final test of strength. It’s raw, dramatic and unforgettable. The sound of breathing, the whir of chains and the cheers of fans echo through the mountains.

After a full day of riding and spectating, we return to Granada for a well-earned evening of rest. This is the kind of day that defines a Grand Tour experience.

Spectator Experience

Mountain stages offer some of the most immersive viewing in cycling. With the slower pace of climbing, spectators can enjoy extended, up-close access as riders battle on the slopes. Dramatic backdrops and passionate crowds create a powerful race-day atmosphere that captures the essence of the Vuelta.
