Giro d’Italia

The Giro d’Italia is an annual multiple-stage bicycle race primarily held in Italy, while also starting in, or passing through, other countries. The first race was organized in 1909 to increase sales of the newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, and the race is still run by a subsidiary of that paper’s owner.

Update: Tour de France Femmes 2023 was THE BEST. Thanks Adam, Petra, Sophie and especially Alex who rode up Tourmelet 3 times in a day to help us. Photo is Pic de Nore, gorgeous riding. Bikestyle are an absolute pleasure to travel with. Friendly, easy to get on with and really know their stuff. They're organised but flexible so everything happens but always in a relaxed laid back way. Another highlight is the great people they seem to attract, I've always met people I really like to ride with and travel with in bikestyle groups. The trips I've done with bikestyle have been some of my best memories and I look forward to travelling with them again in the future.

I had a wonderful holiday with Bikestyle - the Grand Depart - Tour de France 2023! The daily rides were fun and there were options for varying abilities. The staff was FANTASTIC! They were supportive of the riders, they were knowledgeable about everything from routes, bike mechanics, training, TdF athletes & history, etc. I went solo but found that I enjoyed many of the guests since we were all drawn to this holiday! Highly recommend!

The tour was excellent. The tour information provided prior to departure was very thorough including the tour booklet, ride GPX files etc. Planning and organization during the tour by Simon was excellent. Pat's knowledge and advice on cycling in general was a highlight. Simon and Pat were very easy going. They had great knowledge on the area / region where we were riding plus on each of the daily rides L'Etape du Tour - preparation was very good pre-race day and on race day itself. Overall a great tour that I would highly recommend to any serious (and fit) cyclist. Thanks Bikestyle Tours.

Had a fantastic time with a great group of riders and staff. I do recommend this company if you want someone else to deal with all the logistics around the TDF. Happy with everything.

One of the best times of my life and Bikestyle Tours made it happen! I participated in the package from Bikestyle for the last week of the Tour de France. The hotel and transportation arrangements were well organized and the rides were spectacular. I was able to experience different aspects of the Tour de France - ride starts, ride finishes and everything in between. The tour guides managed us through many unplanned situations that we encountered when experiencing the Tour, mostly provided by the local authorities. The only reason I gave 4 stars was on the last day of the Tour in Paris (one of the main reasons I chose this tour, which was to watch the last day of the race) we were left to find our own place in the crowd so we ended up several rows back and was not able to view the racers clearly. I would have gladly paid some extra $$ for a reserved spot and the ability to see the racers go by. The second challenge was that my rental bike, as nice of a bike as it was, was not set up ideally with the gearing that was needed for all of the climbs on our rides. The tour website claimed that we would have bikes with appropriate gearing but my bike as one of a few that did not - other bikes did have better gearing. If I were to do a tour in the future, I would pay the extra $$ or a more immersive Tour de France experience that could be provided by reserved seating, as well as to ensure that I would be able to rent a bike with gearing more appropriate to the climbing rides.

Fabulous tour! Fabulous staff (Vincent, Petra, Paul, Jenny and Anthony) who knew their stuff and accommodated the needs of all guests. The info provided before and during the tour was helpful and Adam was great at responding to all my questions along the way. Great opportunity to see the TDF at first hand, to challenge yourself on some spectacular rides and just all round fun. Highly recommend.

Fantastic couple of weeks on the July 2023 Grandes Alpes Tour. Challenging and breathtakingly scenic rides (including organised entry to L’Etape du Tour) plus great accommodation and food. Excellent support and guidance from the Bikestyle team - the Cannondale Synapse bike I hired was in great condition & didn’t miss a beat. Big thanks to our guides Simon Hevey and Pat Jonker for looking after us and helping us achieve our goals - nothing was too much trouble. Great insights (and some tall tales!) from inside the peleton from Pat. If your a rider who wants to be challenged but also have fun along the way in a supportive environment then I’d suggest giving Bikestyle a try.

I didn’t really know what to expect from a cycling trip in the Italian Alps to be honest. A group of us did a lot of training in the lead up and hoped for the best. Fortunately for us Bikestyle were our guides and coaches and they delivered a truly professional service catering for all our cycling egos (mostly weaknesses in reality). The team including Pat Jonker, Adam and Alex were fantastic. The end result is we want to go back for more and going with Bikestyle is a given. One photo captures it for me in the Dolomites….what a place. If your bucket list includes cycling in Europe and you don’t know where to start I would not hesitate as life is short. There is a lot more I could say so if you have questions it would be my pleasure to re-live my experience, just ping me. Ciao
