Today’s stage uses some of the nicest cycling roads in the Adelaide Hills. It starts at Lobethal right in the heart of the Hills and it also has a wonderful bakery. The conclusion of the stage is in Uraidla, a great small village with a pub, brewery and wood-fired pizza. Last year, Peter Sagan took victory in Uraidla.
We’ll make our way to the start today in Lobethal, and after the riders head out we’ll make our way toward the finish. We have a long and short ride option for getting to the finish. Our long ride will first head in the opposite direction and climb today’s feature climb of Fox Creek Road.
For our short ride option, you have the option of starting your ride from Lobethal or following a more direct route from Lobethal to the finish in Uraidla. A great village for a stage finish.
After the race finish and you still feel like riding, we have a ride option back to our hotel. Again, it is mostly downhill. Climbing in the morning and downhill back to your hotel – the Adelaide Hills is a great place to ride. Our transport with custom trailers are available for your the transfer along many parts of today’s ride, from our hotel to the start, to the finish or back to our hotel.
Shortly after returning to the Hilton we’ll head out to a local venue to welcome our guests joining us for the weekend, enjoying some drinks and canapés before dinner. Afterwards, you’ll be free to dine at a restaurant nearby.
