Alsace Villages and a stage finish

This morning we will head east catching the finish of today’s race. We’ll drive directly to the stage finish town and start our ride from one of France’s classified ‘most beautiful’ (plus beaux) villages. An old town with cobblestone streets and lined with half-timbered medieval and early Renaissance buildings. There are several smaller villages built in similar style, within riding distance. We’ll snap up the opportunity and ride through these stunning villages. Separating each village are vineyards that produce the crisp white wine that Alsace is renowned for.

After our ride, we will return to Colmar in time to freshen up, explore the village and prepare for the arrival of the peloton at the finish line. After the presentations, we’ll travel the short distance to our family run 3-star hotel for the next 2 nights. Each night, our hosts will provide delicious food from the region, and you may as well accompany your meal with a local wine.
