Verona and crowning the 2019 winner
We have time this morning for a short ride around the Valpolicella wine region, one of the oldest wine growing areas in Italy. Besides the wineries, there are peach orchards, olive groves and cypress trees leading to renaissance and baroque style villas. We’ll arrive back mid-morning, in time to shower and prepare ourselves for our visit to Verona.
We have the afternoon available to explore the sights of Verona and watch the final stage, and individual time-trial finishing in the famous Arena. This will be a special occasion. After the never-ending trophy has been awarded and the winner crowned, we’ll return to our hotel for a special farewell dinner, celebrating our trip to the 102nd Giro Italia.
