The first full day and we’ll take on one of the most famous and popular loops from Girona, the Santuario Els Angels climb. The climb is well known for the beautiful scenery, the relatively mild gradient and as the setting for the wedding of Catalonia’s most famous son, Salvador Dali. It’s a lovely gradual ascent and perfect for a first day ride. You may get passed by one of the pro team riders on the way up as it’s a favourite with the international riders who call Girona home.

We’ll pass through some of the most beautiful old villages of the region after the climb to Els Angels, including a detour to admire the castle of Pubols, the former home of Gala Dali, wife of the famous artist Salvador Dali.

In the village of Monells we can take a break in the square for a coffee halfway through the ride, before we take on the second climb for the day to the town of Santa Pellaia, a nice gradual 9km climb that averages out at around 3%, so not difficult.

Back in Girona this afternoon you can relax, enjoy a long lunch or perhaps a post ride massage.

Tonight we have a reservation for dinner at Restaurant Massana, a one star Michelin restaurant which has been part of the Girona dining scene for the past 25 years. The restaurant is an easy 5 minute walk from our hotel.
