Challenge Rating: All rides have the option to leave and return to the hotel. Our support vehicle will allow you to shorten your ride should it be necessary.

Your staff will meet you at the Airport, with a number of scheduled transfers today, your transfer is made easy as we will also assist with transporting your bike and luggage to our new 5-star accommodation in the heart of Adelaide. On arrival at our hotel, your staff will be on hand to assist with preparing your bike for an afternoon ride to ensure everything is in working for a great week of riding ahead.
After our ride, we will head out for a welcome drink to meet your TDU companions.
We recommend arriving before noon if possible to make the most of your time in Adelaide.

Our ride follows the Torrens, past the West End brewery, and down to Henley Beach, where we can capture a few pictures of the Henley jetty. We then make our way back along the coastline via Glenelg and into the city. The easy ride will help test your bike and legs, for the more challenging rides ahead of us.
Women’s Final Stage

We start our TDU week with a bang as we will see the final stage of the Women’s Tour Down Under on top of the famous climb of Willunga Hill and the awarding of the Ochre jersey.
We will set off early to get ahead of the women’s race and catch the race at the feed zone in McLaren Vale. Once the rides pass we will head straight up Willunga Hill and prepare for the final battle of the women’s TDU. After the stage finish, we will return to Adelaide to freshen up and get ready for the Men’s Down Under Classic, the traditional curtain raiser at sunset.
It is an opportunity for the men’s peloton to stretch their legs and claim bragging rights for the first race of the year. You are free this evening to find a local restaurant and explore Adelaide.

We will take a flat” ish” 55km ride out to Mclaren Vale along our very own Patrick Jonker bikeway. We have a short climb mid-ride before tackling the famous Willunga Hill before the women’s race arrives. We will transfer back to Adelaide by bus.

It’s a rest day for the professional teams from racing but we can expect to see some of the teams out on the roads for an easy spin.
We won’t have any time pressure today as we explore the Adelaide Hills, with its beautiful villages and charming streets. Riders and non-riders will meet up at various times and share the experience and maybe a strudel or two in Hahndorf before continuing onto our gourmet lunch in the Adelaide Hills. We will bus everyone back to our hotel so you can enjoy a relaxing lunch.
We have many ride options from which you can choose today. There are designated shortcuts and ride extensions available at various points

Our long ride starts from the hotel, climbing Old Norton Summit. We continue through the Adelaide Hills via Lenswood arriving at Woodside for the stage start. We take a back road to Hahndorf and onto lunch. There will be a designated shortcut for those looking for a shorter ride option.
Tanunda Stage 1

This morning we will explore the Southern Barossa Valley. We will set off in the cooler part of the morning as we visit the Whispering Wall on our way to Tanunda and Stage 1 of the Santos Tour Down Under.
We will reach Tanunda in time to see today’s stage start in Tanunda, among the infamous Barossa Vines. Once the peloton departs Tanunda we have a special treat for you. We’ll congregate in our private function room, on the race course and enjoy the air conditioning, directly at the finish line.
After lunch and our fill, we can step outside and see the stage finish as well. It will be a memorable way to see the first stage of the 2024 Santos Tour Down Under.

We will set off in the cool of the morning after a nice buffet breakfast. We will take a scenic way into the hills without too much challenge of climbing. There may be time to make a short detour to the Whispering Wall, before joining the Barossa Wine Trail through the wineries to our viewing spot in Tanunda.
Lobethal and Stage Finish

We will visit the stage start tomorrow so today we will make our way out of Adelaide ahead of today’s race start and take a scenic route to Lobethal where we will see the race multiple times including the stage finish. It will be another fantastic day in the Adelaide Hills and be sure to visit the famous Lobethal bakery.

We will leave Adelaide via the SE Freeway bike as we take a longer scenic route to Stirling than through the Aldgate Valley. A couple of pinches to the viewpoint at Mount Lofty and we roll our way into Lobethal via Uraidla straight to Lobethal bakery.
Tea Tree Gully and Corkscrew

We have a smorgasbord of cycling on offer today. We will depart our hotel and ride one of the most picturesque roads in Adelaide, Gorge Road on our way to catch the excitement of today’s stage start in Tea Tree Gully.
Once the race departs we will make our way to today’s stage finish in Campbelltown but not before riding one of the iconic climbs in Adelaide, the Corkscrew. While only short a climb the steep gradient mid-climb is often a challenge for any rider.
Once the legs have finished burning we will enjoy a descent into Campbelltown and get ready for what is to be a thrilling finish to the stage.
For those who still have some energy left, you can return to the hotel via bike and beat the traffic.
This evening we will have some welcome drinks for our guests joining us for the weekend tour.

Ride the gentle climb of Gorge Road and arrive at Tea Tree Gully to watch the stage start. After the start, head back through Gorge Rd and up the famous or infamous “Corkscrew” followed by a down the road into Campbelltown.
Port Elliot

This morning we will venture down the Fleurieu Peninsula to ultimately see the stage finish in Port Elliot on the water’s edge. The Santo Tour Down Under often finishes on the peninsula for a reason, its beauty.
We then climb to a number of scenic viewpoints on our way through the rolling hills to Port Elliot. Our easier option starts and finishes in Port Elliot with a flat ride along the coast visiting the villages of Victor Harbour and Goolwa. We will have plenty of time to relax, grab some lunch by the seaside and wait for the Santos Tour Down Under to arrive.

Our long ride undulates its way through quiet country roads to Victor Harbor. There are several scenic locations in today’s ride. We may be lucky to see some Kangaroos. Our easier ride option will explore the Fleurieu Peninsula starting from Port Elliot.

We have a big day planned today with the return of the Willunga Hill summit finish. The traditional Old Willunga Hill stage is back after an absence of 4 years and will be a crowd favorite at this year’s race. Expect TDF experience as the crowds line the climb as the peloton completes 2 loops of Willunga. Be prepared for an exciting day on the mountain.

We have an undulation ride through the Adelaide Hills via Belair to challenge our strong riders or take the Pat Jonker bikeway for a flatter route to start the climb up Old Willunga Hill.
Mt Lofty

Today’s stage starts in Unley, which is a short distance from our hotel. We’ll head down and enjoy another stage start, in a popular cafe precinct. Once the riders head off, we will make our way to Stirling, Crafers, and onto the final climb to Mt Lofty to watch the race. We can pause in Stirling and enjoy some local Adelaide Hills produce.
We will take up prime position to watch the peloton complete multiple loops of the Mt Lofty circuit. Once the race finishes on Mt Lofty, we will head back to our hotel

Our ride takes us to the start of the stage and then takes a quiet road up through Belair National Park to Crafers and Stirling. You will see the stage multiple times today, before the finish on Mt Lofty.
