Having had a really positive experience with Bikestyle on the 2011 TdF tour, we were confident that this tour would also be great, but I have to say it exceeded expectations. Firstly, the hotels were exceptional. I can only imagine how hard it was to find suitable accommodation for a group in some of these out of the way regions. The Las Caldas hotel and the Monastery at Santo Estevo were standouts but all of the hotels were great and a step up from our last tour. Secondly, we loved our guides, Eric and Claire. They were truly extraordinary and we were so lucky to have them guide us around. The group on this tour was quite small (only seven people) and so there was even more pressure on them, as they were spending a lot more time in contact with each of us. We thoroughly enjoyed their company, not just as guides but as great people. I was particularly grateful for the extra kindness and attention that Claire showed to Ruth (as the only female rider in the group and who was very self conscious about not wanting to hold people up). Claire did an amazing job of managing a variety of different riding abilities which, in a small group, was much more challenging. Thirdly, the organisation and logistics were great. The whole tour went seamlessly, even with unexpected events such as the protests that occurred. It was also great that Eric was able to wangle us into a team bus and have some contact with the Teams which was very special. There was a very good balance between riding and watching the race in the various locations and we felt that we saw as much of the race as we needed to. All in all, we had a great time. From here, we’ll cross the border into France, making our way to your hotel, perfectly positioned for the thrilling final week of the 2026 Tour de France.

Time Trial Thrills on the Shores of Lake Geneva
Today, it’s all about precision, power, and pure Tour de France drama. Stage 16 – the Individual Time Trial from Évian-les-Bains to Thonon-les-Bains, is where the race against the clock begins, and every second counts. You’ll get a front-row seat to see the world’s best riders push their limits and catch a glimpse of the latest in cutting-edge bike tech.
We’ll set off from our hotel on the bikes, rolling out with a smooth downhill run before turning onto quieter roads that wind through the Cols scattered around Lake Geneva. The views today are spectacular, sweeping panoramas of the lake and alpine peaks make every pedal stroke a pleasure.
Our ride will finish near the time trial route, where we’ll soak up the electric atmosphere as the pros blaze past, one by one. After the stage wraps up, we’ll transfer back to our hotel by bus, giving you time to relax or head into town to explore local restaurants and enjoy a well-earned French dinner.

Alpine Adventure & The Last Sprint Showdown
Today we journey deeper into the French Alps, positioning ourselves perfectly for the final mountain battles of this year’s Tour de France. But before the climbing fireworks begin, it’s time to witness the fast men of the peloton take centre stage in the last flat stage of the race — Stage 17 from Chambéry to Voiron.
We’ll roll out straight from our new hotel, beginning the day with a ride up the legendary Col de Porte, a climb steeped in Tour de France history. The ascent offers a perfect balance of challenge and beauty, winding through alpine forests before rewarding you with spectacular summit views. From there, it’s a thrilling descent into Voiron, where the day’s action builds to a high-speed sprint finish. Feel the rush as the peloton thunders past, just metres away!
After soaking up the excitement, we’ll transfer back to our hotel, unwind, and come together for a group dinner, celebrating another unforgettable day on the road.

Stage Start Buzz & Climbing the Col de Chamrousse
The Tour de France enters its final and most decisive days, and from here on, the road only goes up! This morning, we’ll transfer by bus to Voiron to catch the start of Stage 18 from Voiron to Orcières-Merlette. Stage starts are always full of atmosphere, a festival of fans, media, and mechanics all buzzing with anticipation. You’ll feel the energy as the riders sign on, warm up, and roll out toward the Alps’ toughest tests ahead.
Once the peloton departs, we’ll head back to our base and jump on the bikes for a ride up the legendary Col de Chamrousse, a climb that has shaped Tour history more than once. It’s a steady, beautiful ascent, offering sweeping alpine views and a real sense of achievement at the summit.
After descending back, we’ll gather to watch the final moments of the stage on TV, glass of wine in hand, the perfect way to relive the day’s drama. Tonight, you’re free to explore one of the local French restaurants and enjoy a relaxed dinner at your own pace.

Today is one for the history books, Alpe d’Huez day! Every climber dreams of etching their name into legend on these 21 switchbacks, and every fan dreams of being there to witness it. This is the most famous climb in cycling, and the atmosphere is nothing short of electric.
We’ll make our way up the valley toward Alpe d’Huez, where you’ll have the unforgettable opportunity to ride the 21 hairpins yourself, hours before the pros arrive. The road will already be lined with fans from across the world, each corner alive with colour, noise, and anticipation. Make sure to look out for Dutch Corner, it’s impossible to miss and truly a highlight of the day!
We’ll position ourselves at a prime vantage point on the mountain to watch the race unfold, feeling the roar of the crowd as the riders battle for one of the most coveted stage wins in cycling. After the stage, we’ll descend back down the valley and gather for a group dinner, sharing stories and reliving an extraordinary day on Alpe d’Huez.

Alpine Showdown & Farewell Dinner
Our ears may still be ringing from the cheers echoing off Alpe d’Huez, but the drama isn’t over yet. Stage 20 – Le Bourg d’Oisans to Alpe d’Huez promises to be one of the toughest of the entire Tour, with over 5,000 metres of climbing and another brutal ascent to the summit, this time via the Col de Sarenne. Expect to see exhausted faces and pure determination as riders fight to make the cut-off and secure their place in Paris.
We’ll start the day in the famous cycling village of Le Bourg d’Oisans, right at the foot of Alpe d’Huez, to watch the Stage 20 start. Once the peloton rolls out, we’ll hop on the bikes and tackle the mighty Col de la Croix de Fer, a legendary Hors Catégorie climb that’s written into Tour history. For those eager for an extra challenge, there’s an optional ascent of the Col du Glandon, giving you two epic climbs in one unforgettable day.
After our descent back to base, we’ll relax and watch the final mountain showdown unfold on TV as the pros tackle Alpe d’Huez once more.
