- Day 3
- Day 4
- Day 5
Bienvenue, Welcome to South-West France

Welcome to South West France, the gateway to the Pyrenees.
Our staff will meet you at Toulouse-Blagnac airport at 10 am. Toulouse is known as la Ville Rose or pink city. It is a vibrant university city and space and technology centre with the headquarters of Airbus and a Space museum. It has grand architectural buildings and has one of the world’s best wine bars. It is well worth arriving a day or two early and exploring the beautiful and welcoming city.
Your professional staff will transport us to Castres, a short distance south of Toulouse. Castres is situated a short distance from Carcassonne and the Pyrenees. Once at the hotel we will have a short shake-down ride to get ready for the big mountains of the Pyrenees.
Join us for dinner tonight at our hotel restaurant as we meet our fellow guests and importantly your guides who will help you maximise your experience with Bikestyle Tours at Tour de France.
DAILY HIGHLIGHTS
- Collection from Toulouse-Blagnac airport
- Welcome dinner in a French village
- Warm-up ride through the quiet French countryside
We have a shakedown ride this afternoon for us to acclimatise to riding in France. We will ride along very quiet rides among spectacular scenery. There is a longer option, but no stress in choosing your ride. You can make that choice on how you feel on the day.
Stage Start before the Pyrenees

We will go to the stage start today and watch with preparations for the stage in Toulouse. Riders must sign on each day before starting the race. As riders sign on the announcer may interview riders and discuss their strategies for the day. It is a great opportunity for you to get photos of your favourite riders.
Once the race rolls off the start, we will have a short ride on some favourite roads. At the conclusion of our ride with will make our transfer to our hotel in the Pyrenees. Our final hotel in the Pyrenees is at the centre of multiple climbs – you’re spoilt for choice.
DAILY HIGHLIGHTS
- Stage Start
- Overnight in the Pyrenees
We will ride after the stage start in Albi, finishing in Gaillac, a small village in the heart of the Gaillac vineyards. Albi has hosted multiple stage starts and finishes to the Tour de France, and recently hosted the Gran Fondo World Championships. The roads are idyllic for cycling and navigating sunflower fields and vineyards.
Col du Tourmalet – Legendary

Today is the Queen Stage of the 2023 Tour de France Femmes. Watch the race on the final climb and see women be added to the historical victories on this legendary Tour de France climb.
DAILY HIGHLIGHTS
- See the TDF Femmes on the Col du Tourmalet
We will travel to the base of the final climb in today’s stage – the legendary Col du Tourmalet. You can climb up as far as you wish to watch the race. Return to our transport at the conclusion of the stage. La Mongie is a beautiful village near the summit, it marks the final push to the summit of the Tourmalet.
Once you leave La Mongie you can see the summit, yet it is agonisingly beyond reach. This is an incredible climb and has so much history with the Tour de France. This year the women will write their own history with this legend.
Individual Time Trial in Pau and a Final Climb

In the final stage, the overall winner has a final hurdle. Anything can happen in an individual time trial – it is the ultimate race of truth. But everything must go to plan first. The 22km circuit is a small climb mid-way through. If times are close at the top of the leaderboard, we may see an upset or a shuffling of positions perhaps.
This evening, after the final presentations in Pau, we will return to our hotel for a final farewell dinner, including drinks.
DAILY HIGHLIGHTS
- Ride the Col du Soulor and Col d’Aubisque
- See the presentation of the TDF Femmes Winner in Pau
We will ride to Pau today, with alternative options available. Our challenging ride will go over Col du Soulor and Col d’Aubisque. The balcony road between Soulor and Aubisque is spectacular as it follows Cirque du Litor. For a shorter option, we will ride through Lourdes, passing the famous Grotto and onto Pau.
Sad Farewell

Sadly, our 2023 Tour de France Femmes cycling trip comes to an end today. After breakfast, we will offer a single transfer to Toulouse-Blagnac airport. There are many connecting flights from Toulouse. We should arrive at Toulouse close to 1 pm, so if you are organising departure flights make sure that domestic flights have a scheduled departure after 3 pm and international flights after 4 pm.
