Welcome to the French Alps

Our trip starts from Lyon and enters the French Alps. We slice our way between the Chartreuse and Vercors mountains and sight the looming French Alps. We’ll take a warm-up ride this afternoon, test our your equipment and flush out any travel legs. Staff will welcome guests at 10am at Lyon Saint-Exupéry airport. Many European and International locations have direct flights to Lyon. A TGV also serves the airport.
Bastille and the French Prealps Stage

Today is France’s national holiday, Fete Nationale or more widely known as Bastille day. We see the race in full colours of red, white and blue and hopefully witness a French victory through the Chartreuse and Vercors mountains. See the race on one of the climbs today as they enter the Alps.
Alpe d’Huez, the Mythical Climb

Whether it is your first attempt on Alpe d’Huez, you’re returning to better your time or this time you’ll take in more of the view. Alpe d’Huez always delivers a memorable day. Complete the ride up Alpe d’Huez without time pressure, and for an extension return along a balcony road with expansive views of the French Alps. A great day out for non-riders also. Watch the queen stage from a local brasserie in the French Alps.
Mountain Stage in the French Alps

Watch a thrilling mountain stage in the French Alps, the last chance for pure climbers. Cheer every rider as they ascend one of today’s categorised climbs. Enjoy our hospitality on race course with live television feed. Don’t miss a moment. Our scenic ride has views toward Mont Blanc.
See the Stage Start and Rider Sign On

Travel down the Mont Blanc valley following the race as it departs the French Alps and enters the Jura mountains. We will catch the fanfare of the riders signing on at the Stage Start. This afternoon, ride through beautiful French villages and wineries of the Alsace.
Moment of Truth on Planche Belles Filles

Today will confirm the winner of the 107th Tour de France. Strange things have happened in a final time trial, especially when served with a significant climb. Be a part of this feature stage and cheer each rider on in their solo effort. Time trials are a lot of fun.
Finale under the Arc de Triomphe

Aboard the TGV to Paris and arrive for the finale under the Arc de Triomphe in a twilight event. See La Course for Women on the same circuit in the lead up to the Final Stage in Paris. You’ll arrive in Paris before lunch and go to our hotel before our staff will assist you getting the race. There are limited hospitality opportunities in Paris, inquire when you book for availability.
Farewell from the Alpe d’Huez Paris

Sadly our trip to the final week of the 2020 Tour de France concludes today. We invite you to stay in Paris for a little longer and encourage you to visit somewhere that you haven’t been before. Our hotel staff will assist you with any transfers that you require.

Ride famous climbs of the Tour de France, French Alps Bike Tour
Our Alpe d’Huez to Paris trip follows the final stages of the Tour de France. Witness the Tour de France spectacle on famous climbs, experience the energy of a Tour de France stage start and we take you to the most anticipated penultimate stage in recent years, the Individual Time Trial on Le Planche des Belles Filles.
Not only do you have a chance to see the Tour de France live, we’ll also visit famous climbs in the French Alps. Ride Alpe d’Huez with the confidence of having the support of our experienced guides.

Watch Tour de France in the Final Week
The 2020 Tour de France route will challenge riders with an unrelenting number of hilly stages and mountain stages every week. Rider fatigue will cause many surprises during the final week. Leading the general classification and holding yellow gives extra motivation to hold it for another day, yet the responsibility of their team managing the pace of the peloton is exhausting. There are no certainties for overall victory, until riders reach Paris. See the final stage and winners presentation under the Arc de Triomphe.
Be part of the drama in 2020 – right timezone, summer weather, spectacular rides, great hotels, luxury transport. Don’t hold off anymore and cure your FOMO (fear of missing out).
