Our exclusively private cycling trip to the Piedmont region of Italy to explore some of Italy’s iconic riding and wine regions.
Our 12-day trip commences with a collection from Milan’s Malpensa airport before transferring to Saluzzo, in the heart of Piedmont and at the base of the Alps, for a stunning five-day cycling tour through the countryside. From here, we travel to the village of Alba, which has close access to famous vineyards that produce Barolo wines.
We will enjoy a few days of culture and food with fantastic rides around the area.
Dinner on 2 nights, with wines, is included on your trip’s first and last night. Leaving the other nights available for you to make reservations at local restaurants in Saluzzo and Alba.

Having had a really positive experience with Bikestyle on the 2011 TdF tour, we were confident that this tour would also be great, but I have to say it exceeded expectations. The Las Caldas hotel and the Monastery at Santo Estevo were standouts but all of the hotels were great and a step up from our last tour. Secondly, we loved our guides, Eric and Claire. They were truly extraordinary and we were so lucky to have them guide us around. The group on this tour was quite small (only seven people) and so there was even more pressure on them, as they were spending a lot more time in contact with each of us. We thoroughly enjoyed their company, not just as guides but as great people. I was particularly grateful for the extra kindness and attention that Claire showed to Ruth (as the only female rider in the group and who was very self conscious about not wanting to hold people up). Claire did an amazing job of managing a variety of different riding abilities which, in a small group, was much more challenging. Thirdly, the organisation and logistics were great. The whole tour went seamlessly, even with unexpected events such as the protests that occurred. It was also great that Eric was able to wangle us into a team bus and have some contact with the Teams which was very special. There was a very good balance between riding and watching the race in the various locations and we felt that we saw as much of the race as we needed to. All in all, we had a great time. Deposit
A deposit of AUD $1,500 (unless otherwise specified) is required to secure your reservation. A booking is not considered confirmed until the deposit has been received.
Final Payment
The final payment is due 90 days before the trip departure date.
Group Cancellation Policy
Should the tour be cancelled due to not reaching the minimum required number of guests, deposits will be refunded minus any non-refundable deposits already paid to suppliers (e.g., hotel deposits).
Individual Cancellation Policy
In the event of a cancellation, the following refund terms apply:
- From deposit payment to 100 days before departure, 50% of the deposit is non-refundable.
- Between 100 and 90 days before departure: 100% of the deposit is non-refundable.
- Less than 90 days before departure: No refunds; 100% of the trip payment is non-refundable.

Upon arriving at Milan Malpensa at 10 am, you’ll be transferred to the beautiful medieval town of Saluzzo (2hr 30min transfer). After checking into your hotel, meet your guide for a bike setup and briefing. In the afternoon, enjoy a gentle warmup ride (30 km) through the nearby villages of Manta and Lagnasco, soaking in the vineyard views.

Start your day with a ride into the stunning Valle Varaita, cycling along peaceful roads toward the village of Sampeyre. The route offers steady climbs with gorgeous views of the Varaita River and surrounding mountains.
After the ride, spend the afternoon exploring the charming streets of Saluzzo or relaxing at a local café. In the evening, you are free to choose your dining spot.

Valle Po
Today’s ride takes you on a 90 km loop through the scenic Po Valley, where you’ll ride along gently rolling hills at the foot of the Alps.
This quiet, picturesque route offers spectacular views of Monte Viso and takes you through several charming villages. Afterwards, enjoy a leisurely afternoon back in Saluzzo, perhaps visiting the Castiglia castle or the local markets.

Our Giro d’Italia tour covers the final two weeks of the race. Due to the locations it visits, it’s not practical to attend the race for just a day or two. Based on our experience, a two-week duration provides the best Giro experience.
The official route for the 2025 Giro race will be released in early November. However, our tour will cover the final two weeks of racing and will finish on the 2nd of June.
